Health and Fitness

Key Stage 4 students have an extended 75 minute Health and Fitness session once a week. Key Stage 5 students are strongly encouraged to participate in at least one afternoon a week of Health and Fitness.

Our Health and Fitness is designed to both support young people with an active engagement in sport and to re-engage those with Health and Fitness for those who need it.

Sports facilities include a MUGA (Multi Use Gaming Area) on the school roof and a sports hall equipped to hold health and fitness sessions. As a city centre school we have access to a wide variety of sports facilities which can be used to enrich student’s health and fitness experience.

Further opportunities for Sports for both Key Stage 4 and 5 including forming UTC sports teams are available in enrichment slots. We actively encourage our 6th form students to demonstrate leadership in forming sports teams.

Our Health and Fitness offer is being delivered in Conjunction with the Newcastle Futsal Partnership.
