We understand completely that it is a very big decision to agree to your child attending a new school either at 14 or 16. We are on hand to help you make an informed decision. See our events schedule or contact [email protected] for a personal meeting.
Once you have decided the UTC is right for you it is time to apply. Fill out the application form and you will be sent a formal offer letter at the next admission point. Then you will need to complete a full registration form and your place will be confirmed.
There are no formal entry requirements at 14 – just a desire to get ahead in your career and an interest in Computer Science and/or Science to engage in the specialisms.
The entry requirements at Key Stage 5 are usually 5 high GCSE passes (Level 4+) including English and Mathematics. Some A Levels have further specific entry requirements
If the UTC becomes oversubscribed places will be allocated as per the admissions policy.
We’ll admit the following maximum numbers of students for the academic year 2020/21:
Year 10: 100
Year 12: 120
There will be a guaranteed place for every current North East Futures UTC Year 11 student into Year 12 for those who meet the minimum entry requirements.
In Year Transfers
You may wish to move your child to North East Futures UTC during the academic year. This could be for reasons such as your family relocating to the North East. In this case you should bypass the normal application process and contact us directly to arrange an interview.
If places are available we will seek to offer your child a place. 6th form students will be subject to the same admissions criteria as September admissions.
All appeals can be made as per the North East Futures UTC Admissions Policy which can be found on the policies page.
All applications received after all places for Year 10 or Year 12 have been filled will be automatically placed on the UTC Waiting List.
