What is North East Futures UTC?

It is a new School for 14-19 Year olds in Central Newcastle supported by local industry, the NHS and the University of Sunderland specialising in careers in IT and health Science

What are the entry requirements?

For Year 10, no formal requirements just an interest in careers in the specialist subjects. For Year 12 the normal entry requirements are 5 GCSE high passes including English and Maths. Some 6th form subjects have further specific requirements.

Why is North East Futures UTC Specialising in Health Science and Digital Technology?

These are the two fastest growing industries in the North East and have thousands of vacancies. These are good, future-proofed careers for young people for the North East.

What if I decide I do not want to be a Health Science professional or work in the Digital Technology sector?

We have a broad curriculum at 14-16 so if you would like to switch career paths, you will be suitably qualified to go to another 6th form for Year 12 and follow a different career pathway. We will support you in this transition.

What Sport does the UTC offer?

All students will do Heath and Fitness one afternoon a week and are encouraged to take part in Sports clubs at enrichment times which run twice a week

What are the school fees?

North East Futures UTC is a non-fee paying state funded Academy

Do you offer places to students for Year 9?
