Dear Parents, Carers,
As you are likely aware the government advice on coronavirus has changed. The advice currently is if anyone in your household has a new sustained cough and/or a fever then the entire household must self-isolate at home for 14 days.
If anyone in your household is currently on a 7 day self-isolation this has now changed to everyone in the household needing to self-isolate and is now 14 days. Any student who comes into the UTC with a persistent cough or signs of a fever will be sent home and the household will be advised to self-isolate for 14 days.
Any student self-isolating will be given an authorised absence. Please email us at email@example.com with start date and expected return dates. All other absences should follow the normal process – by contacting us daily with the reason for your child’s absence.
Please contact me if you require any clarification or advice on the above or any general concerns/queries – I remind you all to be careful of rumours, hearsay and be particularly careful on information from social media platforms. We have no suspected or confirmed coronavirus cases from students or staff – those in self-isolation are doing this as a precaution and to follow government guidelines.
I thank you for your supportive messages, they are very encouraging during these difficult times. I want to send out a huge message of support and encouragement to you all from staff at the UTC – especially those working for the NHS and frontline care services – we are so thankful for your work – please let me know if there is anything else we can do to help or support. For those self-isolating that are entitled to free school meals, please let us know and we will see if there is anything we can do to support from our side.
All the best,
